Charles Laurier Dufour, Belfast, ME(web)
Fine Art Photographer
"The Wait"
2007; B & W Film Photograph; 18x24
Artist Statement: "The human condition, the veritable sea of our shared emotional experience, is one of the underlying themes in my work. One individual’s artistic expression can be seen as human emotion transformed into social communication. We feel and we think. And we act. That’s about the sum of it. A general goal of mine is to create work that will be perceived as provocative and/or evocative; that is, it will lead the viewer to think and/or to feel. Ideally, this would happen both while the viewers are examining my work and after they’ve moved on. For many of my photographs, I will never know whether I truly have provoked or evoked. I can live with that fact.” --Charles Laurier Dufour
