"Eggs and Nest"

16x24

Artist Statement: "Inspiration. From the way light gives color and shape to an object, to the movement of a dancer’s dress, to the stark lines of an abandoned building, Lori finds inspiration in the simple to the sublime. To capture these images, Lori has used traditional and digital photographic techniques such as montage and multiple exposure. I have also found inspiration in the work of many photographers and has studied with Master Photographers Jay Stock, LeeAnn LaFleur and Barbara Tobey. My photographs have been exhibited in galleries throughout Maine. ” --Lori Hutchison

Painter

"Scarborough Marsh 33"
acrylic on canvas, 20" x 24". Artist represented by Carver Hill Gallery and Art North Light

Artist Statement: "Color is my main interest in the landscape. I see the world as a painting; the old mill downtown, colorful cabins, the fire station, golf course, mountains or the beach. The subjects for my paintings come from frequent walks and travels; bringing my vision and experience of the place to the viewer. Many of the my paintings are of commercial structures, bridges and other architectural elements of our modern world set in beautiful Maine landscapes and some have just the natural elements of the beauty of Maine. This is the way I see Maine. ” --Caren Marie Michel

Fine Art Photographer

"Rose’s House and a Scrubby Tree"
Archival Digital Print, 20 x 16

Artist Statement: "The process of photography helps to satisfy my need for creative expression, my desire to explore fragments of the world’s visual landscape, and my search for stillness. With my camera in hand or stuffed in my backpack, I set out on a mission of discovery. I use my camera as a tool to explore visual objects, subjects, or scenes. With tremendous focus, I take these visual fragments into my mind’s eye for a moment and hold them and myself still while taking photographs. Photography gives me a unique view of the world around me, and there is great joy in passing this view on to others through creative expression.” --Christine Cote
