Artist Statement: "The subject of my work is the architectural “temple” (imagined sacred space) reduced to a cube with a passage through and a chimney-like projection on top. Recently, I have been creating ceremonial objects to occupy the interior space of the temple much as the pyramids in Egypt were utilized. By focusing on these motifs, I am free to explore an infinite range of media and materials.” --Paul Oberst
