Louise Bourne, Sedgwick, ME (web)
Painter

"Inside-Outside II"

Oil on Panel, 18x24

Artist Statement: "My paintings are responses to situations I find stunning. Nature calls our attention like a magnet; I want my paintings to have a similar, light–emanating pull. This is achieved through color structure. The progression and interaction of color is the language and the subject. I work in oil, with smaller pieces in watercolor and gouache. Direct observation fuels my work. Many pieces are completely plein air. Others are conceived in the studio, based on watercolors and drawings, with the emotive help of memory.” --Louise Bourne
