BRIAN CALLAGHAN - Portland, Maine

Brian Callaghan is a Portland-based music teacher, composer and performing guitarist. He teaches elementary and middle school general music, private guitar, and music theory through Portland Adult Education. He received his Master’s Degree in Music Composition from Hunter College in New York City, studying under composers Shafer Mahoney and Christopher Theofanidis. His former guitar teachers are Sanjay Mishra, Leighann Narum and Francisco Roldan. In 2006, he was awarded a Special Mention in the 2nd International EpicMusic Composition Prize for his Nocturne for Flute and Harp. [read more]
