All images are for sale. Size, printing and framing options and pricing are all available upon request. All photos were taken digitally using either Panasonic Lumix FZ30 or Pentax K7. They can be printed at any size.
Artist Statement: "I like to set up a shot and then, while photographing it, agonize over the fact that I'm not seeing my vision in the viewfinder. Then I get to put that expectation aside and see what I actually DID capture, which is often a lot more intriguing." --Seth Whited

Mixed Media Artist
"Deep End"
Acrylic on Canvas with Wire
96"x60"x2"
Artist Statement: "For years I have focused on the concept of the 'temple,' my own vision of an architectural locus or passage for the human spirit. Not unlike the pyramids of Egypt, I envision the temple as a machine that transports the viewer metaphorically or metaphysically to realms of consciousness beyond that of the everyday. I present the temple itself or often objects 'removed' from within the imagined interior. Objects include masks, shields, totems, bowls, blankets and ceremonial instruments that are part energy collectors and part sacred spectacles. With that said, artistically speaking, the work focuses on my interest in conceptual art as worked though more traditional artistic media including ritualized craft. I find I am drawn to wiring objects together, actually tying together disparate elements that might have had a most casual relationship, and tapping into the strings, fabric or lines of energy that constitute (whether metaphorically, spiritually or physically) the infinite universes we inhabit. At the same time, each work is a statement of the possibilities, cross cultural ties and grounding that art can generate in an age of ever accelerating human and global activity. Ultimately, my intention is to create works that speak to mysterious primal, ancestral and contemporary human longings." --Paul Oberst

Terry Hire - Northport, ME
Fine Art Photographer
"Nigrel Steps"
Artist Statement: "These images submitted to you represent my reentry into photography after a hiatus of over twenty years. While I never lost interest in or my love of the medium, economic necessity and other professional work took precedent over this artistic outlet. I continued to shoot images during this time, but was unable to do anything with them. I am back in the game, and loving it.
These three images are taken from the various themes that continue to intrigue me. All have the elements that can usually be found in my work: texture, strong color, and expressive lighting, presented in an abstract manner. If they illicit an emotional response, it is because these images are from my heart." --Terry Hire
